Laurie's Story...

God Didn't Waste My Pain

If you had met me years ago, you would have seen someone who appeared to be holding it all together.

But beneath the surface, I was struggling.

I battled anxiety, depression, disordered eating, and health challenges that affected nearly every part of my life. There were days when I felt exhausted, discouraged, and disconnected from the person God created me to be.

I spent years searching for answers. Like so many people, I wanted to feel better. I wanted peace. I wanted energy. I wanted hope. Most of all, I wanted my life back.

What I didn't realize at the time was that God was preparing me for a journey that would not only transform my own life, but allow me to help thousands of others find healing as well.

The Beginning of My Healing Journey

As I searched for answers, I discovered something that changed everything.

The brain and body are deeply connected.

What we eat, how we live, how we manage stress, the nutrients we provide our bodies, and even our thought patterns can profoundly impact how we feel emotionally, mentally, and physically.

One of the most powerful discoveries in my own journey was Amino Acid Therapy.

For the first time, I experienced a level of healing and restoration I didn't know was possible.

My anxiety began to improve.

My depression lifted.

My mind became clearer.

Hope returned.

But while nutrition played an important role, I know without question that my deepest healing came through Christ.

God met me in my brokenness.

He carried me through seasons when I didn't think I could keep going.

He restored what I thought was lost.

And He gave me a new purpose.

Turning Pain Into Purpose

As my health improved, I felt a growing calling to help others.

I earned my degree in Psychology and became a Functional Nutritional Therapist and Neuro-Nutrient Specialist.

But my education didn't stop in a classroom.

Some of my greatest lessons came through my own battles with celiac disease, cancer, emotional struggles, and the ongoing pursuit of living a healthy and purposeful life.

Those experiences shaped me.

They taught me compassion.

They taught me perseverance.

And they taught me that healing is about far more than simply eliminating symptoms.

True healing addresses the whole person:

The brain.

The body.

The heart.

And the spirit.

Why I Created Take Back Your Brain™

Over the years, I began noticing a common theme among the people I served.

They were overwhelmed.

Exhausted.

Anxious.

Stuck.

Many felt like they were losing themselves.

Many had been told that what they were experiencing was normal.

But I knew there had to be a better way. That's why I created Take Back Your Brain™.

My mission is to help people understand the powerful connection between brain health, nutrition, emotional wellness, and faith so they can begin restoring the clarity, peace, and vitality they were created to experience.

Because I believe no one should have to settle for merely surviving when they were created to thrive.

My Greatest Passion

While I love working directly with clients, one of my greatest joys is teaching other practitioners.

There is something incredibly powerful about equipping healthcare professionals, coaches, counselors, and wellness practitioners with tools that can change lives.

Amino Acid Therapy has transformed countless lives, including my own, and I am passionate about helping practitioners understand how to use these powerful nutritional approaches to support brain health, emotional wellness, and lasting transformation.

When I teach one practitioner, the impact doesn't stop with them.

It reaches every life they touch.

That ripple effect inspires me every day.

The Health Evangelist™

Over the years, many people have come to know me as "The Health Evangelist."

Not because I have all the answers.

But because I believe deeply in sharing a message of hope.

Whether I'm working with a client, training practitioners, hosting my podcast, speaking on a stage, or having a simple conversation, my mission remains the same:

To help people discover that healing is possible.

That hope is real.

And that God still transforms lives.

I believe we were designed with an incredible capacity to heal when we support the body, nourish the brain, and align our lives with the principles God created for our well-being.

A Mission Bigger Than Me

Today, my work extends beyond coaching.

I teach.

I speak.

I mentor practitioners.

I host the Take Back My Brain Podcast.

I support mission-driven projects that bring hope and practical help to people in need.

And I continue to follow wherever God leads next.

I don't know exactly what every chapter ahead will look like.

But I do know this:

God has never wasted a single struggle I've walked through.

Every challenge became part of my testimony.

Every setback became part of my purpose.

Every healing became part of my mission.

If You're Struggling Today

I want you to hear this from someone who has walked through difficult seasons herself:

You are not broken beyond repair.

You are not too far gone.

You are not alone.

There is hope.

There is healing.

There is purpose on the other side of your pain.

And if my story teaches anything, it's that God often does His greatest work in the places we thought were beyond redemption.

Your story is not over... In fact, it may be just beginning.

And you don't have to walk this journey alone.

"He restores my soul."
